In this position, you will lead and collaborate on a variety of projects, including traffic engineering studies, active transportation designs, corridor plans, long-range transportation strategies, and safety analyses. What to Expect in this Position
- Technical Lead: Serve as a technical lead on transportation engineering projects across the Northwest for public agencies such as MDT, FHWA, and local municipalities.
- Collaborate: Work closely with a talented team on complex transportation and traffic engineering projects that make a difference in our communities.
- Diverse Responsibilities: Your daily tasks may involve planning, preliminary design, technical data analysis, and traffic engineering. You’ll evaluate transportation improvement alternatives, conduct traffic and safety analyses, and develop preliminary design plans.
- Innovate: Create compelling visualizations and 3D concept renderings using cutting-edge software. You will also evaluate complex traffic and safety conditions using microsimulation and modeling tools.
Qualifications
We are seeking individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess a strong desire to learn and grow. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation or a related field.
- Licensure: Professional Engineering (PE) license in Montana, or the ability to obtain it within six months; PTOE or RSP certification (desirable).
- Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in traffic/transportation engineering.
- Skills: Proficient in design programs such as Civil 3D; familiar with traffic simulation tools like Synchro, SimTraffic, and Vissim. A willingness to learn new software and tools.
- Attributes: Technical proficiency, detail-oriented, adept at working under tight deadlines, collaborative, and able to make informed, independent decisions.
